Breaking news over at Fzeb Towers. We have been lead to believe by someone close to the Chelsea camp that, dueo to powers beyond their control, Chelsea Football Club are lobbying the Premier League to increases team sizes allowed on the pitch from the current 11 to 36.
Chelsea want to be able to give their massive squad more pitch time and allow them to keep harmony within their camp. The manager and the players all agree that this should be taken seriously and looked at as a matter of urgency.
How A 4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-3 Would Look
We’ve crunched the numbers, pressed the buttons and below is an artists impression of what Chelsea’s new line-up would look like should they be successful in their lobby to the Premier League.
Yes, you read that right. A four four four four four four four four three formation. It brings back memories of when Jose Mourinho managed Chelsea and they had a measly defence, and it always felt like you were playing against 36 men when trying to score – though we called it something more affectionate – “parking the bus”.
Premier League Reaction
We reached out to the Premier League to ask them if they could shed any more light on the situation and they said the following:
We understand where Chelsea are coming from. They’ve got a squad the largest we’ve ever seen. In fact, if you stacked each first team player on top of each other, they’d be able to touch the moon.
We will do everything in our power to assist Chelsea and hopefully we can come to some amicable conclusion that not only suits Chelsea, but the rest of the Premier League too.
